Vinpearl Cable Car & Hon Tre Island
A 3.3 km cable car over the bay to Hon Tre Island and VinWonders — roller coasters, water park, aquarium, and safari in a single sprawling resort complex.
Overview
The Vinpearl Cable Car crosses 3.3 km of open sea between the Nha Trang mainland and Hon Tre Island — at the time of its construction it was the world's longest over-water cable car, and the crossing itself, with Nha Trang Bay spread below, is genuinely impressive. The destination, VinWonders, is a sprawling resort-amusement complex: roller coasters, a large water park, a 4D cinema, an aquarium, a safari park, and multiple restaurants and shows. It is unapologetically commercial and enormous — a full day is barely enough to cover everything.
Tickets (July 2026): the cable car is included in the VinWonders ticket, which costs 1,050,000 VND for adults (1.4 m and over) and 800,000 VND for children 1–1.4 m and seniors 60+; under 1 m is free. After 4pm it's 700,000 / 550,000 VND. The cable car alone is about 200,000 VND return. Check on vinwonders.com before you go. Alternatively, a ferry runs from Cau Da port for those with a hotel on the island. Open daily 08:30–22:00. Best for families with children aged 5–15, and best in the dry months (January–August). More in my Nha Trang travel guide. Book online for a slight discount and to avoid queuing at the cable car station.
