Vung Vieng Floating Fishing Village
A community of floating houses, pearl farms, and fish cages built among the limestone karsts of Ha Long Bay.
Overview
Vung Vieng is the most visited floating fishing village in Ha Long Bay — a community of houses, nets, and fish cages built entirely on the water between limestone karsts. Most residents were relocated to shore in 2014 but around 20 families remain, maintaining the traditions of pearl farming and fishing that have sustained bay communities for generations.
