B-52 Victory Museum and Huu Tiep Lake
Overview
The B-52 Victory Museum at 157 Đội Cấn tells Vietnam's side of the 12 days of US bombing over Hanoi in December 1972, which Vietnam calls the "Điện Biên Phủ in the air". The courtyard holds B-52 wreckage, a MiG-21 and SAM-2 missiles. A short walk away, in Ngọc Hà, the tail and landing gear of a B-52 shot down on 27 December 1972 still sit in the water of Hữu Tiệp Lake, surrounded by houses.
Get There
The museum is at 157 Đội Cấn in Ba Đình district, about 3 km west of Hoàn Kiếm Lake and a 10-minute ride from the Old Quarter by Grab. Hữu Tiệp Lake is about 1 km north, down a lane off Hoàng Hoa Thám in Ngọc Hà; walk or ask a Grab driver for "hồ B-52".

Most visitors come from hotels in the Old Quarter or around Hoàn Kiếm Lake. The museum is close to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, so it fits into a morning in Ba Đình.
