May marks the beginning of Con Dao’s rainy season and, more excitingly, the start of sea turtle nesting season. Green turtles begin arriving on Dat Doc Beach and other remote beaches to lay eggs — under national park monitoring. Seas begin to roughen, but the island retains its charm.
