Vietnamese Women’s Museum
Overview
The Vietnamese Women's Museum is a four-floor museum at 36 Lý Thường Kiệt, about ten minutes' walk south of Hoàn Kiếm Lake. Its galleries cover marriage and family life, women's roles in the wars against France and the United States, Hanoi's street traders, and the clothing and jewellery of Vietnam's ethnic groups. Labels are in Vietnamese, English and French, and the building is air-conditioned.
Get There
The museum is at 36 Lý Thường Kiệt in Hoàn Kiếm district. From the south end of Hoàn Kiếm Lake it is a 10-minute walk down Hàng Bài and Lý Thường Kiệt. From elsewhere in the city, a Grab bike or car drops you at the door.

There is no need to stay nearby: the museum is inside central Hanoi, within walking distance of most hotels in the Old Quarter and the French Quarter around Hoàn Kiếm Lake.

Tickets and time: Entry is VND 40,000. Allow 1.5 to 2 hours for all four floors.
When to go: It is indoors and cool, so it works well for the hottest part of the day or a rainy afternoon.
Nearby: Hoa Lo Prison is about 1 km west, and St. Joseph's Cathedral and Hoàn Kiếm Lake are both within a 10-minute walk.
