Muong Hoa Valley
A 15km valley southeast of Sapa town lined with rice terraces, a running stream, and centuries-old stone carvings — the heart of the region's trekking routes.
Overview
Muong Hoa Valley stretches southeast of Sapa town, its 15 km stream tracing a path through some of the region's finest rice terraces, home to H’mong, Dao, Tay, and Giay communities. Treks through the valley pass working paddies, stilt-house hamlets, and stop at the Sapa Ancient Rock Field, where prehistoric carvings are cut into nearly 200 boulders. It's the base for reaching villages like Lao Chai, Ta Van, and Y Linh Ho.
Entry: roughly 150,000-200,000 VND. Activities include trekking, rice planting, and weaving demonstrations with local families.
