Saigon Central Post Office
Overview
The Saigon Central Post Office is a beautifully preserved example of French colonial architecture, designed by Gustave Eiffel's firm and completed in 1891. It remains a fully functioning post office today — you can send postcards home beneath a vaulted iron ceiling hung with antique maps of the telegraph network. One of the most photogenic buildings in HCMC.

Located directly opposite Notre Dame Cathedral at 2 Cong Xa Paris, District 1. A 5-minute walk from the Independence Palace and Ben Thanh Market. Easily accessible by Grab.

**Time needed:** 20–30 minutes
**Tips:** The large portrait of Ho Chi Minh inside is worth seeing. Old maps on the walls show the Cochinchine telegraph network from the 1890s. The post office sells stamps, postcards, and Vietnam-themed souvenirs at fair prices. Photography is allowed inside — the arched interior is excellent for wide-angle shots.
