Tram Chim National Park

Tram Chim, in Dong Thap province, protects a large stretch of Plain of Reeds wetland and is one of the most important remaining habitats for the endangered Sarus Crane, Southeast Asia's tallest flying bird. The park's grasslands and shallow waterways support a wide range of other waterbirds as well, explored by boat along channels cut through the reeds.

Cranes are most reliably seen in the dry season (roughly December to May), when they migrate in from Cambodia; the wetland is largely flooded outside these months.
