Overview
The Flag Tower, known in Vietnamese as Ky Dai, is a 37-metre (120-foot) tower standing just outside the southern wall of the Hue Imperial Citadel. Built in 1807 under Emperor Gia Long, it was designed with careful feng shui principles to protect the imperial capital and has flown the Vietnamese national flag continuously since reunification in 1975.
