Mario Kart Da Lat (Luge Kart at Cao Nguyen Hoa)
Gravity-powered karts on two forest tracks at Cao Nguyen Hoa, 10 km west of Da Lat. 300,000 VND (about $12) covers entry and two rides.
Overview
"Mario Kart" is what everyone calls the luge kart ride at Cao Nguyen Hoa, a flower park and eco-tourism area at the top of the Ta Nung pass, about 10 km west of central Da Lat. The park now sells it as "Luge Kart". The karts have no engine: you roll downhill along a narrow track through the pine forest, steering with handlebars and slowing down with two hand brakes. One person per kart.
There are two tracks. The green one is about 1.5 km and gentle; the red one is shorter, about 1 km, but steeper and faster. Both wind down through hairpin bends, which is where the brakes earn their keep. Riders are sent off from the start in small groups, so you end up racing whoever went down with you. The standard combo ticket gets you one run on each, and a shuttle takes you back up after every run. Most people spend about an hour and a half here, including the queue and a look around the gardens.
Prices (September 2026): the kart ticket is 300,000 VND (about $12). It includes park entry, two runs (one on each track) and the shuttle back up. If you only want to see the gardens, entry alone is 150,000 VND (about $6). Kids between 1 m and 1.2 m tall pay 70,000 VND for entry, and under 1 m go free. Open daily from 7am to 5:30pm, but ticket sales stop at 4:30pm.
Our honest take: it's a short, silly, genuinely fun hour, and good value next to most paid attractions in Da Lat. It's gravity, not an engine, so don't expect real Mario Kart speeds, but racing your friends down the red track is the bit people remember.
Get There
Cao Nguyen Hoa is at Tieu khu 158 at the start of the Ta Nung pass, roughly a 25-minute drive west of Xuan Huong Lake. The easiest way is a Grab car there and back. Grab cars can be slow to arrive out here, so either ask your driver to wait or book the return before you get on the karts.
If you ride a motorbike yourself, the road over the pass is steep and winding and often foggy or wet in the afternoon. Go in the morning and take it slowly. Several half-day tours from Da Lat combine the karts with Mongo Land or Datanla, which saves you sorting out transport.

There's no reason to stay out by the park. Stay in the center near Xuan Huong Lake and make this a half-day trip; see where to stay in our Da Lat travel guide.

Go early. Queues for the karts are longest late morning and on weekends. On weekdays at opening you can often ride straight away.
Don't leave it until the end of the day. Ticket sales stop at 4:30pm, and rain or fog on the pass can close the tracks or make the drive back miserable.
Wear proper shoes and tie back loose clothing. Some branches hang low over the track, so keep your hands inside the kart.
Coffee: Seven-T Coffee inside the park does drinks and snacks with a view over the valley if you're waiting for a Grab.
Nearby: Datanla Waterfall has a separate alpine coaster if you want another ride, and canyoning at Datanla is the bigger adventure day.
