November brings Nha Trang’s heaviest rain after October. The long-term average is about 281 mm, the sea is rough, and a passing storm can flood low streets for a day or two. It’s a month for temples, mud baths and cheap seafood, not for islands. If beach time matters, my Nha Trang travel guide explains why January to April is the better window. Hotel prices are low and the city is quiet, so if you come anyway, plan with that in mind.
Weather in Nha Trang in November
- Temperature: highs around 29°C (84°F), lows around 22°C (72°F)
- Rainfall: about 281 mm, nearly as wet as October
- Sea: about 27°C, but rough, and boat trips are often cancelled
- Flood risk: heavy storms can flood low-lying streets and the river area for a day or two
Rain usually comes in heavy bursts rather than all day, but November has more full wet days than the summer months. Don’t count on the second half of the month being dry. The rain only really eases in December.
Looking for sun this month? Phu Quoc in November and Mui Ne in November are both drier than Nha Trang.
Events in November
- Vietnam Culture Day (24 November): national celebration of Vietnamese cultural heritage, with local performances and exhibitions around the city
Best Things to Do in Nha Trang in November
The rain-proof options come first. Boat trips are last because they’re the least likely to run.
Po Nagar Cham Towers
The Cham towers sit on a hill above the Cai River, about 10 minutes by Grab from the beach. A visit takes about an hour, which fits easily into a dry gap. It’s still an active temple, so expect incense and local families making offerings, and cover your shoulders and knees. Entry: 30,000 VND.

Long Son Pagoda
The white Buddha is 152 steps up the hill. In November you may have it nearly to yourself on a weekday morning. The steps get slippery when wet, so wait for a dry spell. Free entry.

Oceanographic Museum
The museum at Cau Da port is mostly indoors, which makes it the easiest rainy-day stop in town. It has aquarium tanks, a whale skeleton and a large collection of preserved sea life. Allow an hour or two. Entry: 40,000 VND.
Mud baths and hot springs
Thap Ba Hot Springs and I-Resort, both just north of the city, are the classic Nha Trang wet-weather plan. A warm mineral pool beats sitting in your hotel watching the rain. Go on a weekday to avoid local groups.
Dam Market
Much of the main local market is under cover. Go in the morning for dried seafood, fresh produce and snacks. It’s a good place to sit out a downpour.
Nha Trang Night Market
The night market is quiet in November, and the seafood stalls are well stocked with lobster, crab and prawns. Expect fewer people and less pressure to order quickly. Evening showers can close stalls early.

Island Boat Tours
November is one of the worst months for island trips. The sea is often too rough for boats to leave, and visibility around Hon Mun drops after heavy rain. If you want to try, book a refundable tour, check the forecast the evening before, and keep a backup plan for the day.

Also Worth Doing
- Cai River boat trip: a short trip past the fishing villages on the river, but only when the water isn’t high after heavy rain
- Doc Let Beach: the quiet beach about 49 km north is only worth the drive on a clear forecast
Practical Tips for November
- Storm watch: check the forecast before you go. A tropical storm can close the sea and flood streets for a day or two.
- Flexible plans: give yourself a spare day and keep boat bookings refundable.
- Prices: November is low season, so hotel rates are low.
- Getting around: use Grab during downpours. Riding a motorbike through flooded streets isn’t worth the risk.
