Quick answer: April is an excellent month for Quy Nhon: the driest stretch of the year (about 34 mm of rain over 5 days), highs of 31°C and calm seas. The only thing to plan around is 30 April–1 May, a national holiday when Vietnamese tourists fill the beach towns.

What it was like for us: I spent a few days here in April 2026 and found no crowds anywhere, unlike Da Nang or Nha Trang. I stayed at Fleur de Lys Quy Nhon (about $75 a night, with a lovely pool and an 18th-floor bar) and took a private car to Ky Co for 500,000 VND return. (Jack Ng)

What to do in Quy Nhon in April

1. Ky Co and Eo Gio (go before 8am, it’s hot by late morning). Ky Co entry including the cart was 170,000 VND per person in April 2026.
2. Nhon Ly fishing village on the way to Ky Co. Very authentic and worth an hour on foot.
3. Hon Kho snorkeling by coracle (100,000 VND) or canoe (200,000 VND).
4. Sunset at Ghenh Rang and the view from Han Mac Tu’s grave (10,000 VND).
5. Restaurant 114 (114 Xuan Dieu) for seafood: lobster was 1,900,000 VND per kg in April 2026. Ask the weight first; no English spoken. For a cheaper local dinner, Nem Chợ Huyện at 24 Xuan Dieu does a combo for two for 165,000 VND.

Crowds, prices and events

Quiet until the last days of April. Around Reunification Day (30 April) and Labor Day (1 May), hotels on the city beach sell out and prices jump. Book transport and rooms early if your dates overlap.
