November’s low visitor numbers give the Ancient Town a rare tranquillity — the assembly halls, old houses, and museums are largely to yourself. The Hoi An Museum of Folk Culture (showcasing traditional costumes, musical instruments, and craft demonstrations) and the Precious Heritage Art Gallery (free) are excellent options for November’s wetter days. Japanese Covered Bridge
The 16th-century covered bridge in November can be visited at almost any time without crowds — even midmorning, the bridge is rarely busy in this off-peak month. The windy November weather means the canal below is choppy and the bridge itself feels more active than in the still summer months. The carved wooden interior and the small temple shrine are detailed and worth slow examination. Included in the Ancient Town ticket.
My Son Sanctuary
Late November is a good time for the My Son day trip — the mountain road is drying out, the jungle valley site is lush and green from the wet season, and visitor numbers are low enough that the ruined Cham temples feel genuinely atmospheric. The site is best in the morning; the cooler November temperatures make it comfortable even by 10 AM, unlike the summer months. Entry: 150,000 VND; allow 3 hours including the drive from Hoi An.
Thanh Ha Pottery Village
November is one of the best months for Thanh Ha — very few other visitors, the potters working at their own pace, and the riverside setting beautifully green after the wet season. The muddy paths through the village after recent rain are part of the authentic experience. The covered workshop lanes are warm and the pottery demonstrations are detailed and unhurried.
