Visibility is at its clearest of the year, and the coral reefs around the island are home to sea turtles, reef sharks, and vivid tropical fish. Most island boat tours depart from Cau Da pier and include Hon Mun alongside one or two other islands — Hon Tam and Hon Tre are the most common additions. Book through a reputable operator rather than the pier touts for better equipment and smaller groups.

Po Nagar Cham Towers

Built between the 7th and 12th centuries by the Champa civilisation, Po Nagar is one of the most important Cham religious sites in Vietnam — and unlike My Son, it’s still an active place of worship. The hilltop complex overlooks the Cai River and the fishing harbour below, and on clear January mornings the views are excellent. Four of the original towers survive; the tallest (23 metres) houses a shrine to the goddess Po Nagar. Entry: 30,000 VND. Covered shoulders and knees required.

Long Son Pagoda

Nha Trang’s most-visited Buddhist temple is best known for the giant white Buddha statue that sits on the hilltop above the complex — visible from across the city. The climb (152 steps) rewards with panoramic views over the rooftops and coast. Vinpearl Cable Car & Hon Tre Island

The 3,320-metre cable car crossing from the mainland to Hon Tre Island — once the world’s longest over-sea cable car — is a Nha Trang signature experience.
