Quy Nhon enjoys a dry season from roughly February to August, with the calmest seas and clearest water for beach days and boat trips to Ky Co and Hon Kho falling between March and June. Temperatures peak in the hot summer months of June to August. From September through December, the region sees its rainy season, with a real risk of storms and rough seas that can disrupt boat trips to the islands. For the best balance of good weather and fewer crowds, aim for April, May, or June.
Getting There
Quy Nhon is served by Phu Cat Airport (airport code UIH), roughly 30 km from the city centre, with regular domestic flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The Reunification Express train also stops nearby at Dieu Tri station. By road, it’s about a 3-4 hour drive from Da Nang or Hoi An, and roughly 5-6 hours from Nha Trang, making it a feasible stop for those road-tripping the central coast.
